Building The Next Generation (BTNG)
We are a nonprofit organization that focuses on the construction labor shortage in the United States with a mission to shed light on the subject matter, create awareness and bring about positive change by aligning prospect employees together with employers and addressing the labor shortage.
A lot of contractors have been focused on college graduates. I am trying to expand on the reach by tapping into the general population, military vets, formerly
incarcerated and high school students. By widening the search I am hoping that I shed some much-needed attention on the opportunities that are available within this industry.
The industry unfortunately does not get much positive marketing. Those that might be interested in a career in construction don't know where to go to find these opportunities . With each event I do radio advertising, in addition to LA County notifies/alerts organizations they support as well.
BNG is excited to be a contributor in the effort to assist contractors find new talent and in doing so shed a light to all its opportunities.
Construction's Biggest Staffing Struggles in 2024
Those in the industry know that this labor shortage has been ongoing for a very long time. A lot of firms are focusing on college grads.
Not all can afford or have the time to not be immediately making an earning to support themselves.
With the shortage continuing to exacerbate, college graduate candidates are not a big enough pool to address the needs. The effort of this nonprofit is to widen the pool of applicants.
We would like to expand the search to the general population, high school students, ex-offenders and military vets. For more details, CLICK HERE to read the originating article.
